A world that lives on forever.

From Dungeon to World

Greetings everyone, and welcome back to the latest blog post, where I talk about what’s been on my mind.

Today at work, I found myself thinking about the game and what I could do to make it better. I know it’s already something unique, but at the same time, it doesn’t feel like the kind of game you’d normally find among a sea of titles that are, on the surface, far more polished or advanced. That got me thinking. What can I do to push it further?

Where I live, we’ve been getting hit with some pretty rough windstorms lately, along with those constant freeze-thaw cycles that just make everything feel unsettled. Maybe that mood carried over, because I started thinking about adding more life to the world. Characters. Villagers. People you can meet along the way.

Then my mind started racing like a madman, jumping from one idea to the next. You know the type. Like someone riding on top of a subway thinking they look cool, when in reality they absolutely don’t. Picture a less handsome version of Louie Anderson and you’re probably close.

Still, with how things are progressing in the game, I’ve got some ideas I really like. A desert maze. A few dungeons scattered across the world. And that frozen island I keep coming back to, where a wizard is said to live. That one especially sticks with me.

But then I had another thought. Something a little more personal.

Why not put myself in the game?

Just a small moment. A quiet wink to the player. Nothing over the top, just something there for those who find it. I like the idea of someone stumbling across it and realizing there’s a bit more behind the curtain.

Because when this game is finally released, I want players to be able to go out and wander. To explore. To find things at their own pace.

I’d love to create spaces where the player can simply exist for a moment. No pressure. No danger. Just a place to stand, look around, and enjoy the world.

That’s the kind of experience I want to build.
